Former Florida A&M University head football coach William "Billy" Joe was inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame on July 21, 2007.
At Florida A&M, he led the Rattlers to an unprecedented five Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) titles, while acquiring three of the conference’s Coach of the Year accolades. Coach “Billy” Joe captured seven National Black College Football Championships and two NAIA national titles. He coached for 11 years at FAMU (1994-2005) and is the second winningest coach in Black College Football history (237 wins). He enters the College Football Hall of Fame as one of the most highly decorated black college football coaches in history.
